Some stories don’t begin or end cleanly.

They arrive unexpectedly—sometimes in the backseat of a car, sometimes in a cardboard box, sometimes just wandering into your life as if they had always meant to find you.

This is a collection of those stories.

Some of the names here belong to companions who are no longer around, though it doesn’t feel quite right to say they’re gone. They’ve simply moved into a different kind of memory—one that shows up in quiet moments, familiar habits, or the way a house still holds onto them.

And then there are the new ones.

The rescues. The ones still learning the rules, still finding their place, still becoming part of the story.

This isn’t meant to be a sad collection. It’s more of a living album—one that keeps growing, even as it remembers.
